Responsibilities and tasks

Avonova’s approach to occupational health is very results-driven, by recommending and executing the customer interventions that generate most employee well-being to our customers. We do this from data – both of various segments from all 2.2 million individuals that we intervene with, and for each specific customer’s employees and teams. And our internal operations is very much steered from performance data.

Avonova’s data analytics journey is well underway. With a modern platform built on Azure and Databricks, close to 10 integrated data sources, and several use cases delivered to the organization as powerBI report apps in production, we are now scaling our efforts to turn data into a strategic asset across Avonova.

As Product Owner and manager for Data Analytics, you’ll take the lead in turning our data platform into a powerful enabler for smarter decisions, increased sales, customer insights, better services, and continuous innovation. You’ll work closely with internal stakeholders, third party implementation partners, engineers, analysts, and leadership to ensure the roadmap delivers clear business value — every step of the way.

The Data Analytics team currently consists of one data scientist and the Product Owner. There are good opportunities to grow the team going forward.

Your key responsibilities

• Strategic Leadership: Set the overall data strategy, vision and the roadmap of making Avonova a data driven company that offers valuable insights to its customers and the business.
• Be the go-to person for the data analytics team and support the team in finding information, resolve issues or blockers and make appropriate decisions related to the data platform product
• Stakeholder Engagement and prioritization: Engaging with various stakeholders across the organization to understand their and our customer’s data needs, gather and prioritize requirements and communicate the value of data analytics initiatives.
• Lead the team’s efforts according to decided road map and priorities. The team consists of internal resources, external technology partners as well as stakeholders across Avonova forming a virtual data analytics team.
• Technical Leadership: Make sure the data platform meets the needs of the business and strategy. Make sure your team has the technical know-how to make good decisions about new technology and how it's put together.
• Security: Ensure data security measures are ingrained in our platform's architecture and part of daily operations. Ensure adherence to global data protection regulations, and internal Avonova security policies, and foster a culture of security awareness.
• Data Governance and Quality: Set up rules and processes to make sure our data is high-quality, consistent, and reliable. Manage who can access data and ensure we follow data protection laws.
• Innovation and Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with new technologies and methods in data analysis, machine learning, and AI to make our data analytics better.

Who are we looking for?

We are seeking someone who will be at the forefront of transforming the way insights are provided to our business and customers. You will be the key link between our new technology team and our business needs, responsible for managing the product backlog and ensuring that the platform aligns with our strategic objectives. You understand the importance of good system architecture and data governance, and how they lead to valuable business results. Your skill in managing data infrastructure, along with a drive for innovation and improvement, will help us succeed together.

Past experience & qualifications

• Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years' experience in data analytics, with a few years of expertise in technologies such as Databricks or Snowflake.
• Previous experience from working on agile product delivery teams and previous experience as product lead or an equivalent role for a data team.
• Fluent in English and Norwegian or Swedish.
• Solid understanding of Azure cloud services, especially data related capabilities and familiarity with networking, security and resource management
• Experience with Databricks or similar platform and data warehouse principles.
• Familiarity with Data modeling & Pipeline design.
• Experience with powerBI.
